About Betty Kemp

Betty S. Kemp is a graduate of Tuskegee University, Tuskegee Alabama, USA, where she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Dietetics with the Highest Honors. Betty, then, relocated to the University of California, San Francisco, where she completed a Dietetic Clinical Internship. She then returned to the Bahamas where she worked for 3 years at the Sandilands Rehabilitation Center and was awarded a Government In-service Award. This award afforded her the opportunity to attend The Hebrew University, Braun School of Public Health, Jerusalem Israel, where she graduated with a Master's of Public Health degree, Cum Laude. Betty is also a Certified Food Safety Instructor. Betty has worked at all of the government owned hospitals within the Bahamas. During her career she has treated thousands of persons with Medical Nutrition Therapy. These experiences propelled her to write the book, MAKING NUTRITION EASY FOR A HEALTHY BAHAMAS, which has had a tremendous impact on the nutrition health of its readers. In addition, the Bahamas Ministry of Education has demonstrated their support by making this book accessible to all government schools. The book was also a required text for the Basic Nutrition course at The College of The Bahamas. Mrs. Kemp presently serves as Deputy Chief Dietitian at the Rand Memorial Hospital in Freeport, Grand Bahama. Mrs. Kemp is also a motivational speaker. She facilitates nutrition seminars, food safety seminars, as well as, seminars and workshops on ecclesiastical protocol and etiquette.
